- Rebecca D 8/26/2024Beautiful falls, sadly strewn in litter by those that don’t deserve to enjoy areas of natural beauty The falls are stunning, all I can say is please take a spare carrier bag and leave the place tidier than you found it. It’s a short walk from the carpark yet I filled a whole carrier bag with litter. It’s a stunning falls but when you walk behind and are greeted with take away coffee cups it takes the shine off.
I saw a could get engaged here and all I kept thinking was how sad their pictures will be ruined with litter in them. Sad reality of walking anywhere beautiful these days, the ‘entitled couldn’t care less brigade’ are slowly ruining all our countrysideread moreread lessTourist68678930492 8/26/2024Stunning- well worth a visit You will need to brace yourself for windy roads but the car park is pretty good and the view is worth the gradient.
The Batcave (in the Dark Knight Rises is a stunning spot). If you have waterproofs bring them as walking behind the waterfall is, unsurprisingly, going to soak you.read moreread less - Wild_Panther 8/25/2024Beautiful waterfall Very impressive waterfall!
We didn't go behind it, but plenty of people do.
First visited in April was fewer people but more fully fall. And just recently, in mid August, car park was nearly full at 6pm and not as much water.
Walk to the waterfall is down a steep route but going back up is not as easy but worth it!
Car park is free. unless full than can pay on farmers land for a fee.read moreread less - Amanda M 4/18/2024Enjoyable walk to the falls Venturing to Henrhyd Falls on a heavily rainy day in early November proved to be a captivating experience. The rain lent an air of drama to the already lush surroundings as we traversed the muddy yet well-marked trail. Despite the slippery conditions underfoot, the sheer power of the waterfall was both mesmerizing and awe-inspiring. The spray created a magical atmosphere.
Our journey to the falls included crossing a wooden bridge and walking up steep steps to reach the footpath at the top, adding to the sense of adventure. However, the recent heavy rainfall had intensified the falls' strength, dissuading us from attempting to walk behind them for safety reasons. Despite this limitation, our time spent in the presence of such natural grandeur left an indelible mark on us.read moreread less - Joanna F 2/23/2024Saw Henryhn in full flow after lots of rain. Spectacular. Short walk from car park 10-15mins. Firm stoney path, flat to begin with but then descends down to a wooden bridge to cross the river to the wooden steps to climb back up the other side. Another stoney path and some stone steps take you to the side of the river. Unable to get too close or go behind today as waterfall was fierce after lots of rain. The trees looked amazing covered in the bright green bryophytes (mosses, liverworts and hornworts)read moreread lessWanderer09618760027 1/11/2024Not for the lighthearted (or the ones with children + pushchairs) Was a nice waterfall but I can't say the same for the walk there, it's only around a 15 minute walk from the car park but I wouldn't do it again, it was awful, I only went there and back and I was boiling (it was-5°) and I took off my coat and jumper. Don’t know why anyone would say it’s a nice walk. I don’t think it was anything special unless you wanna hit all your goals on your Apple Watch in just 20 minutesread moreread less
- familydiners2015 10/28/2023Lovely waterfall Parked in the National Trust car park. Took the walk downwards (steep so not suitable for prams or people with walking difficulties). It had rained the day before so very muddy (we were wearing walking boots and trousers which I’d advise) Stunning waterfall. You could walk behind it but expect to get wet. Enjoyable family walk which our teens enjoyed too.read moreread lesslc0076 9/29/2023After the rain… A majestic experience! Walk as described..take it slow but perfectly accessible. We went later in the day so very quiet which made the walk there and the falls themselves so much more magical. Heavy rain the days before meant the waterfall was breathtaking.read moreread less
- nickys778 8/27/2023A must see you’ll never forget The free car park is at the top of a steep descent (on a gravelled pathway) down the gorge to reach the falls. We got there before 9.30am which I’d recommend as we had the waterfall to ourselves for a short while, which was a privilege. The falls are breathtaking. The path isn’t as easy to get behind the falls, especially when it had been raining heavily, but walking behind the falls is incredible - wear your waterproofs! By the time we left the car park was filling up but there was also parking in the next field (£5). We spent around 1.5 hours in total. This could be part of a longer walk to incorporate other nearby waterfalls if you wanted to make a day of it.read moreread less
- Marcus T 7/30/2023Walk behind the waterfall There is a free car park with space for 30 or so cars, spaces seemed to free up fairly regularly so we waited a couple of minutes to park instead of going to the paid for overflow one.
The path down to the waterfall is fairly steep with steps up again but well maintained. The view from in front of the falls is great and if you don’t mind a nearly 2 person wide but wet and uneven path you can walk behind. If you love waterfalls as I do this is a must.read moreread less - Mike 10/24/2021An amazing gem in the Welsh countryside Was told about this place on the off chance, and on the day we went it was chucking it down.
It’s a very steep walk down and back up, but certainly worth the effort and due to the extra rainfall made the view even more special.

About
Henrhyd Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, United Kingdom. It is the highest waterfall in South Wales, with a height of approximately 90 feet (27 meters), and is set within a wooded gorge that adds to its scenic beauty.
The waterfall is formed by the Nant Llech River, which flows through the woods before cascading over the cliff edge to create the stunning waterfall. Visitors can access the falls via a footpath that leads through the forest and down to the base of the falls. The walk to the falls is about 30 minutes, and there are some steep and uneven sections, so it is advisable to wear appropriate footwear and take care.
Henrhyd Falls is a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike, and has been featured in various movies and TV shows, including the famous Batcave scene from the movie “The Dark Knight Rises”. It is also an important site for wildlife, with a variety of flora and fauna in the surrounding woodland.
Overall, Henrhyd Falls is a stunning natural wonder that is definitely worth a visit if you are in the Brecon Beacons area of Wales.
