- Navigate13612984242 7/13/2024Well worth a visit Very impressive and entirely free. A reasonable 15 minute walk from the car park, but the path gets rather wet and is blocked by a fallen tree. Decent parking facilities, no toilets but there's a good public toilet nearby at Aberdulais. Nearby also some very interesting features on the Neath Canal and the more famous Ystradfellte falls.read moreread less
- Iweinvanaalst 10/27/2023Peaceful and beautiful A ten minute walk from the car park takes you to Melincourt falls. You can bathe at the foot of the waterfall but it is not possible to swim or walk behind it.
I recommend bringing a picknick to enjoy in sight of this beautiful and peaceful monument of nature.read moreread less - Alan J 8/08/2023Great day out for nature lovers Fantastic place to visit, lovely walk through well maintained forest area leads to what could be described as a lost world type valley with waterfalls. Will have to come back in Winter when both falls are at their most busy. Also worth walking across the road and through the forest to follow the river, but I'll leave you to find out what secrets lie there.read moreread less
- Barrie Walton 6/22/2023Beautiful Waterfall Very easy to find. It’s just a 5 minute drive, as you turn off the dual carriageway, and well signed.
The car park is quite large, and it could probably take about 50 cars (at a guess). Also, it was refreshing to find that it was free.
Once in the car park, you need to cross the road, and you’ll see a small sign and information board. Then it’s a case of walking up the path, following alongside the river up towards the waterfall.
The path was a little muddy, but not at all steep. It’s took about 10-15 minutes to reach the waterfall which was beautiful.
Well worth a visit, and costs nothing to see.
I visited at mid day on a Monday in Mid June, and didn’t see a single other person. I had it all to myself, but no idea how busy it gets on a weekend.read moreread lessOliver R 10/06/2022Breathtaking natural beauty. An easily accessible waterfall just off the road towards Resolven. Having gone on an evening following heavy rain in the morning, the path was easy to follow though a tiny bit precarious in places. The power of the waterfall once you see it, though, is incredible. I forgot to look out for the Melincourt Works perched on the north side of the gorge, but will return soon to do so. JMW Turner visited here over 200 years ago. It’s easy to see why.read moreread less
