Perfect place to explore waterfalls. Everything was clean and some helpful essentials in the home.
Peter & Lydia was always quick to respond to questions and had recommendations for local trails too.
Peaceful and friendly area. Never met so many friendly locals!
Highly recommend the village hall cafe too. Perfect food after a long walk.

Canyon Cottage was beautiful and in a great location. I’d definitely stay there again.

It was disappointing for our two children that the WiFi wasn’t working and phone signal isn’t great there. If we’d known before we arrived we could have brought our own portable router. Something to consider letting others know before they arrive.

A small point regarding the enclosed garden.. smaller dogs can get under the gate so might be worth attaching some mesh to the bottom.

Overall a great stay for our first trip to Wales. We will definitely be visiting wales again.

Great place, spacious, comfy beds, nice kitchen, 2 TVs with large sofas, fireplace, lovely garden. Very very nice!
Only drawback is phone signal is extremely weak there, and if TalkTalk (the local internet provider) is having a bad day, you will have no way to go online/contact anyone! Not ideal for bored teenagers!

wonderful place to stay. lovely little village. lots of restaurants/pubs within walking distance, lovely walking trails nearby. the Airbnb was clean and tidy, however. there we so many spiders! a daddy long legs in every corner of every room. I think I counted 6 in my bedroom, they were literally everywhere! this put us off quite a bit. they were even in the cupboards. most of then were massive, so it's not as if they were out of sight.
another thing that annoyed us was the cleaning fee. £50! we thought that was very pricey. considering the checking out rules were "strip the beds, put the linen and towels in bags, take out and replace the bin bags, sanitise all of the surfaces, clean the dishes and put them away". now I would have done this anyway regardless of the rules. however a £50 cleaning fee is way too much. all they would have had to do for the next guests is put clean sheets on the beds, and hoover (which we did anyway). we're undecided if we'd return. thank you for reading 🙂

And a great place to adjust your work-life balance in the right way!

Just enough WiFi to find what you need without getting lost in time.
A relaxing shower for when you get back home after a day filled with Welsh nature.
And a nice living to relax infront of either the fireplace or the television.

Having a car or bike is very convenient (a necessity) for shopping.

Moderate walking skills required but still good to take the dogs. We didn't need to drive to any attractions apart from Co-Op in the village (3mins drive).

lovely stay at Peter's. The bungalow was very comfortable and we loved the layout with the open plan kitchen and living room. it is in a quiet dead end road with only a few other houses. It is an easy drive to the Brecons or you can walk straight from the house for river and waterfalls.

Superb 😀 - The location was wonderful for me, so close to nature. The house was peaceful, spacious, beds very comfortable, nice outside area, high standard of accomadation, very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Canyon Cottage 😃 😞 - I am not a fan of wet rooms myself. It would have been helpful to have a mop not a brush to clear the water afterwards. The knives were quite blunt. There is no dishwasher or washing machine. This was fine for me as I like washing up. It just seemed strange considering the high standard/cost of the accommodation.

Wonderful location and lovely accommodation. The only negative was the lack of quality kitchen utensils etc. Also the wifi connection is rather poor due to the location. Otherwise great and Peter was extremely helpful when we had a problem with streaming on the tv.

Excellent accommodation right in the heart of where we wanted to be. 😀 - Excellent location, excellent amenities and the communication was excellent with the hosts 😞 - Had all the facilities needed to make the stay really comfortable.

The bungalow is in a great spot for accessing the surrounding area and the lovely walks. There are a couple of pubs within a 10 min walk and the local town centre is about a 20-25 min walk.
Highly recommend the place and I’m sure we’ll book it again.

It was amazing, a long weekend away, could have stayed longer, great for a base for when exploring.

What a little gem Canyon Cottage turned out to be. Tucked away in a very peaceful cul-de-sac, this accommodation met with all our needs. The location is superb; we began our stay on Day 1 with a dog-walk along footpaths that led us along a beautiful river and to some stunning waterfalls. More walking was completed for the rest of our stay; the location put us in a great position to reach some magnificent walks. Within walking distance, we found three fabulous eateries - breakfast at Gwladys and evening meals at The Angel and The White Horse - fantastic! We found the accommodation to be very comfortable, very clean and very relaxing. The log fire was a real bonus, the wi-fi terrific and the enclosed garden meant our dog was entirely safe. We'd be happy to recommend this as a great place to stay.

My son, dog and I have had the most wonderful stay at Peter's cottage, which was super clean, spacious and had everything we needed to feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring all the stunning waterfalls nearby. Thank you too for the very thoughtful box of treats. Will definitely be back!

Peter’s place was so ideal for our family break. It’s literally seconds away from scenic waterfall trails and easily accessible if you want to venture further into the Brecon Beacons. The local area is friendly and had some great pubs who also cater for little ones.
The space itself was clean, spacious and relaxing. We didn’t want to leave!

Lovely cottage in a quiet area. It was nice to hear the river flowing. Spotlessly clean and fresh. One of the best places I have stayed for cleanliness. All modern furnishings and everything you need for your holiday. The white horse pub was great. Lovely and cosy. Staff were really friendly. Catered well for dogs. Food was absolutely lovely. Would definitely stay at one of their accomodations again if in the area. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved our break. The house was lovely and cosy, bigger than pictured too, we felt right at home.
We walked both the waterfall routes and the routes for Dinas ro k, both were amazing and I would highly recommend.
Pen y Fan is within 30 minutes drive.
There is a lovely pub for food and drinks in walking distance, The Angle Inn that I would recommend. We also popped across the road for a coffee, also very nice and they also offer food.
We will be back in the summer 🙂

Great location , nice place, great host

Nice and quiet with great walks literally around the corner. Enjoyed our stay a lot.

Initially our hearts sank when we drove up to the property as it is in little close with other houses all decorated for Halloween and has no outlook at all.

However that aside, we had the most wonderful time. It was an ideal position to be able to explore and walk our dog by the river with no one around. You can walk the Four Waterfalls walk without having to drive anywhere. They were magnificent.

We had some great meals at local pubs. Pen Y Cae Inn and The old white horse stood out. The cottage is immaculately clean and well equipped. You can’t hear any neighbours or traffic. So peaceful and comfortable. Communication was excellent with Peter and we were very impressed by his organisation. Thank you. We would certainly love to come again and will be recommending to others.

Nice place perfectly situated for waterfall walks.

Took us a minute or two to find the correct house number but fairly easy to find.

If you are going over a weekend then check the time resteraunts close Sunday afternoon as some have shorter hours.

An ideal location to explore Waterfall Country and the Beacons. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with high-spec decor. Would highly recommend.

Canyon cottage was very comfortable, uncluttered and clean. It was ideal for two of us, but could easily accommodate four adults.
There was generous parking which helps to make any stay less stressful.
All in all, it was a very restful and peaceful break.
The waterfall walk was a delight.
Both Peter and Lydia were very quick to respond to a couple of enquiries.

We have had a lovely stay for the week in Canyon Cottage. There was plenty of space for our family of four and a dog. The Cottage was very clean, comfortable beds and the perfect space to come back to after our adventurous days out exploring.

Peter was very responsive and provided us with a wealth of information about the local area. We underestimated just how close we were to the waterfalls!

The waterfall trails are just beautiful and there was so many places to explore that we could have done with staying for another week.

Fabulous location to explore the many waterfalls in the area, which are spectacular. There are three pubs all within walking distance (15 mins) which all serve food. We ate in the Angel and the food was lovely. The accommodation was clean and modern and had all the amenities you could need whilst away. Lovely garden to sit in on a sunny day. We stayed for a few nights. Great location, you can walk to the falls and we drove to Swansea for the day and Wales Bike park about 20 minutes drive. The Angel pub about 10 minute walk was great allowed dogs with good pub food and the nearby town with coop and amazing donuts highly recommend ‘The Donut Place’ The accommodation was suitable for the 3 of us with secure garden for the dog. Would be fine for 4 - twin room big size. The village hall just a 100 yards away did great breakfast baps.

We loved exploring the waterfalls and enjoyed our time in the cottage. It’s a great location and the cottage was very clean and comfortable.

My friend and I stayed at Canyon Cottage for a long weekend of hiking and couldn’t have been happier with it. Fantastic location to see the surrounding waterfalls and within walking distance of some great pubs. Only a short drive from the Brecon Beacons mountain range! Peter sent through clear check in and check out instructions and Lydia messaged to say that we could check in early. The place was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a great stay. Would highly recommend, and we won’t hesitate to stay again in the future!

We had a lovely stay in the cottage. We stayed there for a week and we could have stayed easily for a little longer. Well equipped kitchen, clean house, beautiful surroundings.

The cottage was very convenient for exploring and within 15 minutes walking distance to pubs and beauty spots.

In a perfect location for waterfall walks, Pete's place had everything we needed and was an easy stay. Clean, comfortable and surprisingly spacious. Helpful information for walkers and a good recommend for the Old White Horse Inn, where we had a wide choice of home-cooked food.

Really lovely little place to stay, in a perfect location for hiking. Great pubs less than 10 minutes walk away. The bungalow was exactly as described with plenty of leaflets & maps giving more information on things to do. Parking is right by the property too. Peter & Lydia were really helpful & quick to respond to any messages. Their 'explore south wales' website came in very handy looking at other things to do in the surrounding areas. I will definitely be booking this & other properties that they own, again.

Lovely place, has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Our little family really enjoyed our trip and the location was just beautiful and so peaceful.

Bungalow was clean and tidy.
Unfortunately there wasn’t a car parking space ever available so needed to park in the village hall car park.
Local pub (the angel) was very friendly and welcoming and dog friendly.
Would definitely stay again if in the area.

We are new to renting cottages and we're most impressed by the facilities at Canyon Cottage. All equipment and appliances worked efficiently and there was a file with instructions if needed

Fantastic little cottage tucked away in the south of the Beacons. Didn't hear a soul or a car. So peaceful. Perfect for walks and also a secure rear garden for the dogs to chill safely after a long days trail

This is the second air b n b of peters’ that we have stayed in and it was even better than the last one in pontardawe, which I didn’t think could be topped.
The cottage is spacious, open, modern, clean, just amazing. It’s so relaxing at night you can hear the rivers running and waterfalls nearby. The cottage is pet friendly and we brought our little dog along, you wouldn’t know this as it’s so clean and spotless.
I would recommend this cottage to anyone and Peter is the best host so accommodating and prompt and helpful thanks so much we will be back …if u will have us lol x

I spent a long weekend in this well presented cottage and it was absolutely great. The cottage itself has pretty much everything you need. It has a nice warm feel throughout and a lovely private outside space. Also, there is a fireplace which adds to the cosy atmosphere. The area is very convenient for those who like some stunning walks and there are also a couple of nice pubs nearby.
The communication with the host was excellent and I'm certainly hoping to revisit this place again in the future.

Wonderful apartment 😀 - We loved the apartment, well situated in beautiful surroundings. Well kitted out and we enjoyed our stay immensely. I would definitely come back! 😞 - I liked everything although I would say the shower area gets very slippery and we ended up keeping a towel on the floor after I nearly went flying! A shame as I can see much thought went into the shower set up.

Superb little holiday house at the end of a cul de sac. Super quiet with a couple of good pubs at the end of the road. The accommodation has pretty much everything you need and is furnished to a pretty high standard. Extremely clean and well presented!

A great place to take a break and escape to. Lovely, clean and very spacious. Everything provide that you may possibly need if self catering. Very convenient to go and explore, close to Zip World, the Welsh Nation show Caves, the Brecon Beacons, Cardiff and many stunning Castles all within a short drive and finally the Waterfall Trails within walking distance. Could possibly not recommend enough and would definitely stay again. Excellent communication with Peter before and during our stay, many thanks.

Great bungalow to stay in. Lovely and clean & everything you need. Back garden is totally secure for your dogs. We stayed for the Easter Weekend & really enjoyed all the walks from the door step, we didn’t use our car once. I would recommend that you take everything with you as the nearest shop is 2 mile away. I would definitely stay there again. Peter was great at keeping in touch & even let me know that the bungalow was ready a couple of hours earlier than planned.

Great place for the stay and hassle free.

Ideal location for walking from, we did the longer waterfall walk and took the footpath straight from cottage to just do the loop of 4. The longer loop is harder work than it looks! Couple of pubs that welcome dogs in walking distance, the white horse was our favourite and we were welcomed like locals whereas the Angel Inn is more of a restaurant than a pub atmosphere

The cottage is very clean, welcome pack is a lovely touch. Woodburner is lovely after a long day. Wet room floor can be chilly on feet while dries out so I'd take slippers. Little garden which catches a fair bit of sun to sit in. Would recommend and would look to stay in one of hosts other cottages in the future

We had a terrific week staying at Canyon Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious and super quiet which was really relaxing. We enjoyed the log fire after some spectacular waterfall walks which we could do from the doorstep.
The kitchen was well equipped and the recycling system was rewarding to partake in.
All round a newly redecorated, clean and delightful place to base yourself to explore the Brecon Beacons.

We had a wonderful stay here, the location was perfect and we couldn't fault a thing. Peters communication was great and give us all the information needed to make our stay stress free. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of this lovely cottage and had plenty of room for 4 adults and furfriends. I have to note that the beds were the most comfortable I've ever stayed on, to the point we have now ordered a mattress the same for home.
Will definitely be looking to return.

Peter has everything set up so nice ready to enjoy your holiday; clear check-in instructions, super clean welcoming cottage with great woodburner to crash in front of after walking the amazing countryside. Location is spot on to explore right from the door and we we're always really grateful of hosts that welcome dogs.

Great bungalow. It is in a residential corner, but is like a tardis inside and quiet. Everything you’d need for a lovely break away, with walks from the door and all you might need in the bungalow. Would visit again!
