Safety instructions and gear all top notch which is obviously very important Started out on the easy jumps and gradually worked our way to the higher ones - all along, Rhys ensured that those who wanted to stay at the lower end were looked after alongside those that wanted something a little higher I can't recommend RipnRock highly enough; would be my definite recommendation if you wanted to go coasteering in The Gowerread moreread less
- Simon Bartlett 13/08/2024We took a group of 25 Scouts and 3 adult volunteers for a half day coasteering session with RipnRock last week. We had an absolutely fantastic time. Rhys and the team were fantastic with all the Scouts, some of whom were pretty nervous. We felt very safe with these guys who made sure that everyone got the most from the session. There are more adventurous and easier routes that can be done, therefore making this a fantastic activity for groups of adrenaline junkies or the slightly more timid. Lovely guides. We booked a session for our son as a birthday present and from the first online enquiry through to the day itself, we were very impressed with the team's communication, responsiveness and knowledge. Our son loved his second experience of coasteering, the jumps ranged from fun to challenging, but there were always alternative options and no pressure to jump outside of his comfort zone. Dave, our instructor, made the session fun and entertaining, whilst always ensuring safety first. As an added bonus, as spectators we found some good vantage spots to watch some of the jumps. Perfect amount of leader lead session and allowing us to get on with finding our way. Always clear and concise when coming to health and safety but allowing it all still to be fun in the perfect environment. Dave led both of our activities and was brilliant - the right amount of encouragement without pushing us to do anything we didn’t want to. We both felt very safe in both activities through Dave’s explanations and demonstrations, and especially whilst canyoning where he checked areas before we went in due to the natural movement of the river. - aled griffiths 03/09/2023The family and I had an excellent morning today jumping into the sea around Rhossili. The group was mixed abilities and there was something for everyone. It was great as the jumps built up gradually which helped you build up your confidence. If you didn't want to jump that was OK you just had a lovely dip in the sea and were chief Seal spotter , we saw loads. Great fun for all ages. Big shout out for Matthew who was an exceptional guide, making us all feel safe and excited at the same time. Jumps were awesome: high but a good challenge and there were always options to take a different route if you fancied a break. Dave, Rhys, Sally and the team could not have been more accommodating to our Scout & Venture Scout group. From the moment we booked to the moment we finished the activity there was no issues. We had 37 young people and 4 adults on the day of the Coasteering and as a leader it was a great to see the professionalism that Dave and his team showed on the morning of the activity with our young people. One or two of our young people had reservations about taking part but by just talking it out with the instructors they knew they were in good hands. Overall we've nothing but good things to say about the RipNRock team and would highly recommend them to other scout groups out there. Jamie and Lucy guided us through our Coasteering calmly and encouragingly ensuring all aspects of safety were covered. There was no pressure if something was too daunting. The same was equally true of Dave and Lucy during our Canyoning session. Both environments were spectacular settings and this is an amazing way to experience them safely. Rhys our lead instructor was great fun and knew the terrain like the back of his hand. All the kit was provided and really good quality.
